The one tool every interior designer cannot live without…
If you have ever watched a single interior design programme or you follow a number of interior designers on instagram, you have probably come across the infamous ‘mood board’. But what is a mood board and why is it such an integral part of the interior designers toolkit?
Also known as a ‘concept’, a mood board is a collection of images and swatches that are used to showcase the mood (shock horror), colours, textures and styles of a design project.
They are an excellent way of creating a visual starting point for each design and not only allow the designer to collate their ideas onto one page, but also give the client a tangible example of the inspiration behind their new space.
If you’ve ever designed a room in your home only to get to the finished project and realise that none of the items really work together, or it just doesn’t feel how you wanted it to, then a mood board is your new best friend.
